The Dome of Cologne in Germany. I couldn't possibly fit the whole thing into one frame unless I stood several streets away. Even this is a composite of two images.

Photos don't really do it justice, but imagine a church as tall as a New York skyscraper.

impressive and shiny

nice building
Did you know the Dom was the tallest building in the world for a few years?

As you stated, it is increadibly hard to do that building justice. It is gorgeous and absolutely huge. Did you walk to the top while you were there?

Wonderfully crisp photo and a good job stitching the two together.

Yep I knew that :)

And no we didn't walk to the top unfortunately as there was a pilgrimage going on and access was limited. We did get to go on the pilgrimage and see the shrine of the 3 kings though, which i wouldnt have normally gotten to see.

This is a great shot! Old churches rule. They're so huge and pointy.

Straight people are just gay for the opposite sex.
I've seen it. My mom and I were travelling in Europe a few summers ago and took the train into Cologne. This was the first thing we saw when we stepped outside of the train station. So, we took pictures. It's GORGEOUS!

When you're ready to give up the fight, who can you surrender to?

Gravity is a myth. The Earth sucks.

Build a man a fire, he'll be warm for a day. Light a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
what a gorgeous shot! From the thumbnail the stark contrast of that warm blue against those burnt umber and ochre colors made me think it was a painting for a moment.

Good work, there is no sign that the picture came from two different pieces.
It's too bad about the acid rain though, it kinda dulls the look of the building.
That is amazing; almost unreal! :O
